Nigel is a Partner and the Head of the Property & Real Estate Department of the Firm. He is a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
Admitted as an English Solicitor in 1983, Nigel practised with various firms of solicitors based in Central London for fourteen years (at senior assistant and partner level) where his main area of practice involved handling Property transactions, although, he gained wide experience in other areas of legal practice. He has worked at Crane & Hawkins, Solicitors and U.S. Attorneys; Glovers, Solicitors; Boyce, Evans & Sheppard, Solicitors; Sturgess, Jeremy & Co., Solicitors and Judge, Sykes & Harrison, Solicitors. He joined Kaplan & Stratton of Nairobi, Kenya in early 1997 to develop and take over conduct of the firm’s private client work from a long-standing incumbent. He left Kaplan & Stratton in 2005 to join Daly & Figgis (now Daly & Inamdar). He has been a Partner at the Firm since 2007.
His areas of practice over the years have involved him not only advising individuals of many different nationalities and cultures but also corporate bodies including, banks and offshore trust companies, as well as non-governmental organisations.
Nigel authors the Kenya Section of an International Succession Law publication, first published by a major UK publisher of legal products in December 2001.

- Nigel’s Property work involves advising on commercial and residential properties, registered and unregistered titles, freehold and leasehold properties, advising landlords and tenants on commercial and residential properties, advising on mortgages and charges and advising on property related taxation issues including Stamp Duties and Value Added Tax on property transactions.
- Nigel does a lot of Private Clients work, including, estate planning and asset structuring for tax planning purposes and to facilitate devolution of assets, preparation of Wills, both local and foreign, domicile issues, conflict of laws issues, probates and administration of both local and foreign Estates, advice and implementation of trusts, both domestic and offshore including preparation of Letters of Wishes, formation of and advising on Charitable Trusts and formation of and advising on non-governmental organisations.
